Towed Vehicles

         TOWED VEHICLES

If your vehicle is towed, the officer will give you a TOW SLIP with the owner’s information,
the reason for towing, the location the vehicle was towed to, and other information.

BEFORE the vehicle is towed the officer will give the driver the chance to take any property out of the vehicle.
Once the vehicle is secured, no property can be removed until the towing fees and daily fees are paid.

Unless otherwise noted, all vehicles towed by the Town of Ogden Police Department are brought to:
Jim’s Service, 6433 Buffalo Road,  Churchville, NY 14428  (585) 293-2211

When retrieving the vehicle, the registered owner will need to
                              1. Provide a photo ID and a valid driver’s license
                              2. Provide proper registration papers and proof of insurance.

There is a daily storage charge that needs to be paid in addition to the tow bill.

These are the three statuses for vehicles being towed.
    1.   Release upon presentation of proper papers. – The registered owner can pick up the vehicle after presenting a photo ID and a valid driver’s license.
    2.   Hold for evidence/investigation – The officer will release the vehicle once the tech work is done.
    3.   Hold until release authorized by Ogden Police Department. – This usually refers to multiple suspensions and/or Aggravated Unlicensed Operation tickets.              The vehicle must be held until the District Attorney and/or judge releases it.
