D.A.R.E.

The Ogden Police Department D.A.R.E. program is a newly revised program that has its roots dating back to 1983.  D.A.R.E. is a collaborative effort between Law Enforcement, Education and Prevention Science to develop life skills needed to make safe and responsible decisions.

In the Spencerport Central School District, D.A.R.E.’s keepin’ it REAL Elementary Curriculum is presented in the 5th grade by a Police Officer.  It is a 10 week program containing (but not limited to) lessons on ways to handle stress, risk and consequences, and decision making.  There is a Graduation Ceremony to recognize all students who completed the program.

All D.A.R.E. participants are invited to be active participants in the Spencerport Fireman’s Parade in June.

D.A.R.E. instruction can also be given in K-4 visitations which include lessons on safety, feelings and when to call 911.
