Meet the Library Staff... Kay Hughes-Dennett is our Library Director. She has been working in the Monroe County Library System for almost 18 years and formerly worked at the Greece Barnard Crossing Branch. She lives in Rochester with her husband, 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Anne Strang has been our Children's Librarian since 1997 and was our interim director. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Bonaventure and a Masters degree from the University at Buffalo. Prior to joining our staff, Anne worked in the library of the Churchville Elementary school in Churchville-Chili. Anne is known for her wild and woolly programs, and you are likely to find her sitting on the floor surrounded by kids listening to her tell stories. Kate Vreeland has been with the library since 1997. Kate oversees the Adult Fiction & Nonfiction, Movies, and Recorded Book areas. Kate has Bachelors degree from Georgian Court College and a Masters degree from Rutgers University. She lives in Brockport and enjoys quilting, traveling, and reading. Roberta Voelkl started working at the library in 1990 at Amity St. as a circulation clerk and is now our Young Adult Library Assistant. She oversees the collection for grades 6-12 and supervises our Junior Friends group of volunteers. Roberta is well known in the community and is always coming up with some new and funky idea to get kids into the library. She lives in Spencerport with her two children, husband, and 2 dogs, Luci & Kiah. Cindy Lott has been with the library since 1992. She wears many hats -- she is our bookkeeper, our animal expert, a/v processor, and organizer extraordinaire -- in addition to working at the desk as a circulation clerk. In addition to working at the library, Cindy also runs CDL Printing with her husband, Dave. She and Dave live in Spencerport with two cats and one dog. Cindy can often be found inPineway Ponds Park with that dog, Doc, an exuberant black lab. Anne Marie Basile has worked at the library since 1998 as a clerk. She came to us with a long history of experience in the Rochester City School District as a teacher's aid and storyteller. Anne recently learned how to sign, and is available to interpret programs for the hearing impaired. She maintains our "bestseller list," and produces the library newsletter. Mary Conjerti has worked with us since 1998 as a circulation clerk. Mary does a little bit of everything - she works at the desk, fixes books, writes up order cards, and more. Mary is also responsible for all our interlibrary loan requests, and oversees the magazine collection. Mary introduced the staff and our patrons to the writing of Brock & Bodie Thoene, whose books are now among our most popular. She lives in Spencerport with her husband and son. Kate Boggs began working at OFL as a page in 1994 and has been a part of the
library family ever since! She received her Masters of Library Science
degree in 2005, and currently works full time as the librarian at
Autumn Lane Elementary School. Katie is a part of the "Wednesday Night
Crew" and enjoys helping out with both Young Adult and Children's
programs. Pat Leiston works in the library at the Fairbanks Road Elementary School in the Churchville-Chili Central School District. She joined our staff as a part-time clerk in October 2005. Amanda Vargas has worked at the library since 2003 and and is attending RIT. She helps with story hour and is also an accomplished dancer. Bob McDonald joined our staff in August 2005. Bob is a Kodak retiree and lives in Hilton with his dog Addie.
JJ Liebow is our youngest clerk. JJ began work at the library as a volunteer when he was in middle school, then was hired as page in 2005. He has been a clerk since 2006. He is our resident computer expert and our webmaster.
Sheila Wimer is the newest staff member at the library. She works as a clerk and lives in Spencerport with her husband and two daughters. Ralph Johnson is the man who keeps the library clean. He's the first one at the library every day and is in charge of keeping the public and staff areas clean and neat. Ralph lives in Hilton with his wife Pat.
Phillip Koyoumjian began working at the library in 2005. He currently attends Roberts Wesleyan College. Phil, as well as Alex Agostnelli and Pat Cieslinski are our Pages and are the ones who keep the library neat and in good order.
Lauren Sochia has been working at the library since 2001. She started as a page and then graduated to working as a clerk. She currently is attending SUNY Geneseo and comes back to work breaks and vacations.
