Census Information Available at the Library The Ogden Library has collected a wide variety of census information relevant to the history of Monroe County in general and to Ogden, Spencerport and Parma specifically. Materials available in the library include:
- New York State Census Records - available on microfilm from 1855-1925 for all towns in Monroe County and the City of Rochester. A volunteer is currently creating a name index to the 1855 census that will list all people living in the Town of Ogden and Village of Spencerport during that census.
- United States Federal Census Records - available online through subscriptions to Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest; U.S. census records are also available in book, microfilm and CD format.
- A seventeen volume study of the 1790-1820 U.S. census records was completed by volunteers in 2004. These volumes list the names of every person living in Ogden during those census years and traces their movements from census to census. The volumes are arranged alphabetically by name and are only available in the library.
