Genealogy & Local History Collections
The Ogden Farmers' Library has amassed an extenisve collection of genealogy and local history materials for use by the public. The information available on this website is a sampling of the materials available in our collection.
Most materials in our collection are reference and must be used in the library. Reference items are designated in the catalog and on the spine of the book with a lower case "r." Most items are cataloged and entered in the
Monroe County Library System catalog, although we have a small selection of materials not cataloged. These items are primarily copies of primary source documents or small pamphlets.
All items, with the exception of some of the gazetteers and rare or fragile items, are kept in the Genealogy/Local History section at the back of the General Reference area. A digital microfilm/fiche reader/printer is available for use in the reference section of the library. A list of microfilm holdings is available for download below. Revisions of this list will be made available as new materials are added as part of the Haines-Weirich Genealogy Collection, selected donations, and materials purchased from the annual library budget.
- Uncataloged Resources List - Materials available at Ogden that are not catalogued are listed here arranged by topic. The location of each item is also listed to help you find the materials in the library.
- Historical Images Collection - Learn about the photo collection housed by the Town of Ogden. Since 2003, many of the images from this collection have been used in the Pathways to the Past walking tour in the Village of Spencerport. View the tours online here.
- Microfilm Holdings and Software Holdings - both microfilm and software lists were updated in August, 2005.
