When there is inclement weather during our winter months all of the town's municipal highway employees will be busy cleaning the roads for your safe travel as well as emergency vehicles. This doesn't mean that all of the roads will be clean all of the time. When you are driving during inclement weather, each driver should adjust their speeds for the current conditions that are on each road that you are traveling on. Giving yourself additional travel time will also help you have a safe trip each time you are on the roadways. Driving too fast for road and weather conditions is usually the cause of winter accidents. Also please remember that bridges and overpasses freeze first and when the temperature drops below 20 degrees salt does not work as well. Your patience and cooperation will help the road crews clear the roadways safer and more quickly. At 10 degrees salt does not work. Please click on the links below for further information.
